QR Code Critique

QR-Code execution in print advertisement may be an obstacle for most brands attempting to integrate interactivity into their marketing mix.
A recent advertisement in a Polish magazine, POLITYKA was not that clear on its approach to promoting what I think was a GPS promotion from Neostrada. I was able to scan the code with my camera phone but unfortunately that was as far as the code went. I thought it might take me to an online site or post text about a promotion. The organisation that displayed the code had their website printed above the code so I later went online to follow up. The website was also very unaccessible and required the highest adobe flash software to see the site which required 13.1 megabits to download.
Suggestion
Brands need to place more emphasis on where the consumer will be directed when they scan the code. If it is a voucher then make it more clear or it may cripple a consumers perception of your brand. I have a hunch that many brands will slap these codes freely without considering the negative impact it may create for future branding campaigns.
